Stella Baby and Child Kerrigan Collection 5 Drawer Chest in Caf̩ au lait

We were trying to make a fairly narrow nursery work without feeling cramped, and this chest ended up being the right size. It's tall enough to hold a surprising amount of baby clothes without taking up too much floor space.

The Café Au Lait finish is warm and looks softer in person than it did online. As an interior designer, I can be picky about proportions, and this piece feels balanced in the room. The anti-tip kit was included and straightforward to install, which I appreciated.

Only small complaint is that delivery was pushed back by a couple of days, but everything arrived in perfect condition. Overall very happy with it.

I ordered this online without seeing it in person, so I was nervous. It arrived looking exactly like the pictures, maybe even a bit nicer in our room. Packaging was solid and there was no damage at all. The rustic white colour is what I hoped for, not too stark. Delivery was on time, which helped a lot with nursery planning.

The cafe au lait colour reads consistent across the whole piece, not blotchy or overly red, which is something I notice immediately. The curved pulls are small but elegant, and the proportions of the chest feel balanced in the nursery. It looks more custom than mass-produced. Very happy with it.

I assembled it myself and went through the instructions carefully. The parts were labeled clearly, the pre-drilled holes were accurate, and the drawers are square once installed. No stripped screws, no crooked slides. The grain pattern is also consistent across the front panels, which I noticed right away.

After three months of researching nursery furniture, I was very particular about finish, smell, and overall construction. This chest arrived without any chemical odour, which mattered a lot to me. The surface looks smooth and consistent, and the colour is exactly the warm tone I wanted for our nursery. It is also heavier than I expected, in a good way. The drawers open properly and do not feel flimsy at all.

We had Pottery Barn furniture with our first, so I was honestly expecting this to feel like a downgrade. It didn’t. The chest has that same substantial, real-furniture feel and the finish is much better than I expected for the price. I also like that the curved pulls don’t look cheap. Very happy we went this route instead of paying premium-store prices again.

We have this in the room with our second baby and a 3-year-old who opens drawers all day. So far it holds up very well. My husband said the hardware was straightforward and the chest is heavy enough that it stays put. Not cheap, but practical. That is what I wanted.

We bought this after looking at Pottery Barn and a few other places, and the quality is definitely there. The finish is lovely in person, and it works well with the rest of our Kerrigan pieces. I am taking off one star because the price is steep for a chest, even with the nicer build.
