Stella Baby and Child Athena Collection Chest in Belgium Cream

The Athena chest was the piece that finally made our nursery feel organized. Four drawers is enough for sleepers, blankets, crib sheets and the extra outfits my sister keeps bringing over, and it doesn’t take up as much wall space as a double dresser. The Belgium Cream finish is soft and looks really nice with warm lighting.

Small drawback: it’s taller than I pictured, so we moved the wall shelf higher after delivery. Once anchored, it feels steady and the drawer framing makes it look like a proper furniture piece, not just baby storage.

I do not buy nursery furniture emotionally, so here is the math: this chest is expensive, yes, but the build quality is what you want if you plan to use it for years. The drawers feel properly mounted, not like they will sag. If this stays in service through two children, the cost makes sense. The matching collection is a plus because you are not replacing pieces later. That is where the value is.

I inspected this pretty closely before accepting it. Drawer alignment is even, the knobs are mounted straight, and the finish is consistent across all visible surfaces. It feels like a properly built piece of furniture rather than a nursery item that will loosen up in a year. The weight alone tells you it is not flimsy.

I was looking at the Athena collection in person and the Belgium Cream finish is softer and warmer than it reads online. The moulding detail is lovely, and the chest proportions feel balanced beside the crib. It does not have that yellow tint some creams get, which was my biggest concern. Very polished look overall.

After three months of comparing nursery furniture, this chest felt like the safest choice. The finish has no strong smell, which mattered a lot to me, and the drawers open smoothly without any wobble. It looks elegant in the room, but what I noticed first was that it feels solid, not light or hollow. We bought it to match the Athena crib and the colour is consistent.

We needed something strong for second baby and toddler hands. This chest is heavy and stable, which I like, and the drawers still work fine after my son tries to open them every day. Not cheap looking at all. Only thing, delivery was a bit later than I hoped, but the piece itself is good.
