Calli Power Recliner by Best Chairs

Five stars. I’m 5'2" and this chair fits me really well, which was my biggest worry. The seat depth is good and my feet actually rest without me feeling swallowed by it. The swivel is smooth and the power recline is easy to use during late-night feeds. It also looks nicer in the nursery than I expected.

We have a smaller room in Rexdale and I was worried a power recliner would take over the whole space. This fit better than I expected, and I could still open the crib drawer and move around it without feeling cramped. I used the showroom measurements, and they were accurate. Nice to find something comfortable that still works in an urban nursery.

After reading the instructions cover to cover, I was happy that the chair is actually put together properly. The base feels stable, the swivel mechanism is precise, and there is no side-to-side wobble when you sit down or stand up. The upholstery is also consistent, with no loose seams or uneven stitching on mine. For a power recliner, that mattered more to me than anything else.

We looked at a bunch of options, including Pottery Barn and a couple of West Coast stores, and this ended up being the best value for us. It feels like a proper nursery chair, not something we will want to replace in two years. The fabric also seems like it will hold up to spit-up and daily use, which is honestly what I care about most now.

We spent a long time comparing nursery chairs because I was particularly cautious about off-gassing and strong chemical smells. This one arrived with very little odor, essentially none after the first day, and that gave me a lot of peace of mind. The fabric texture feels substantial and the stitching is neat. We have been using it for evening feeds and I appreciate that it feels calm and solid, not flimsy. My husband Vikram also liked that the controls are straightforward and that the recline is quiet.
