Urban Rustic Crib

As a single dad, I tend to make a checklist before buying anything major for my daughter. Sturdy construction, safe design, adjustable mattress height, and something that would last beyond infancy were all on it.

This crib delivered on those points. The mattress fits snug with no edge gaps, and there are no gaps between the slats that would cause concern. The frame feels very solid once assembled, with no creaking or movement when leaning over to put the baby down. I also appreciated that there was no chemical smell when we opened the packaging.

The Brushed Wheat finish has a nice natural look and the black base gives it a bit of character without being too trendy. Assembly took a little longer than the estimated time in the manual, but all the hardware was included and everything lined up properly. Overall, a well-built crib that feels like it was designed for everyday family use.

We had to make a complete nursery work in a smaller room, so dimensions mattered more than anything. This crib fit the space without making it feel crowded, and still left room for the dresser and a glider. I measured a few times before ordering and it matched what was listed. That was a relief.

I ordered online from Peterborough and was nervous about colour, because pictures can be so misleading. This was not one of those cases. The brushed wheat finish was basically what I expected, and the black base gives it a nice contrast. Delivery came wrapped well and nothing was chipped.

After our first nursery from Pottery Barn, I honestly expected to have to lower my standards a bit here. Didn’t happen. This crib has that warm, finished look and it made the room feel pulled together right away. We bought the matching dresser too and the whole set looks much more expensive than it was.

I read the instructions before starting, and that helped. Parts were labelled clearly, holes lined up correctly, and the hardware was consistent. No stripped screws, no weird gaps, no alignment issues. For a crib at this price, the build quality is better than I expected. It feels engineered properly.

We got this for our second baby and it is very sturdy. My husband said it went together fine, just heavy to move around the room. After my toddler leaned and pushed on it, still no wobble. Not cheap looking at all.

We spent so long comparing cribs and this one felt different the minute it was unboxed. No chemical smell at all, which mattered a lot to me. The finish looked clean and even, and the crib felt heavy in a good way, not flimsy. It gave me peace of mind for our first baby.
