Palo Nightstand

This was the piece that made the nursery feel finished without crowding the room. We have a smaller space in Rexdale, so I measured everything twice before ordering, and the Palo nightstand fit beside the glider with room to walk through. It gives us two drawers for the little things, but it still looks slim and not bulky. I was worried the room would feel packed, but it actually made the layout work better.

I had been looking at nursery furniture for months and was very particular about finish, smell, and overall construction. This nightstand arrived with no strong chemical odour, which was important to me, and the surface felt smooth and properly sealed. The drawers open cleanly and the recessed pulls are simple but elegant. We paired it with the Palo crib in the same finish, and the match is exact. It is expensive, yes, but it looks and feels like something that will stay in the house long after the nursery stage.

The dove colour is very calm in person, not too cold and not too beige. I was worried it would look flat, but there is enough depth in the finish that it reads like a real furniture piece, not nursery-only decor. The proportions are also good beside the crib, which mattered to me more than extra storage.

I bought this during the sale after seeing it in the showroom in Vaughan, and it was exactly the same white as the other Palo pieces. That sounds basic, but colour consistency is not always a given with nursery furniture. The scale is also nicely proportioned, so it does not look bulky in the room. Very happy with it overall.

I looked at the joinery and hardware carefully before buying. The drawers are aligned properly, the pulls are recessed cleanly, and the slides feel consistent on both sides. Nothing rattles, nothing feels loose. For a nightstand, that is really what I wanted.
